A History of Community Advocacy for Suffolk Park
Established in 1959, the Suffolk Park Progress Association was formed by local residents seeking to advocate for the needs of a growing coastal community & help shape the future of Suffolk Park.
Over the decades, the organisation has played an ongoing role in supporting local infrastructure improvements, community initiatives, environmental advocacy & engagement with Council on issues affecting residents.
In 2026, the organisation transitioned to Suffolk Park Community Association (SPCA), reflecting the evolving ways communities connect, participate & work together while continuing the strong foundation built by previous committees, volunteers & community members.
Major Achievements Since 2010
The following timeline highlights a selection of major community projects, advocacy initiatives & organisational milestones undertaken by SPPA/SPCA since 2010, when consistent digital records began being maintained.

Completed 15-year transformation of Linda Vidler Park area, acknowledged a suite of community infrastructure achievements & ushered in new committee for the next era.
