Community support for Bird Lake is turning into action, with regional media coverage, new partnerships, Council discussions & practical plans to restore one of Suffolk Park’s most important environmental assets.
Residents have delivered a clear message. SPCA’s Bird Lake survey shows overwhelming community support for restoring Baywood Chase Lake, improving water quality & seeking external funding to protect the wider Tallow Creek catchment.
Byron Shire Council has unanimously supported a motion to review the Southern Gateway Corridor, identify priority projects & explore future funding opportunities for Suffolk Park.
The SPCA has lodged a submission calling for the Southern Gateway Corridor to be recognised as a priority transport resilience corridor for the Northern Rivers.
